2019: Buhari In Trouble as Police, lawmakers, Customs, oil merchants, others gang up against Him – Presidency

ABUJA – THE Presidency Sunday lamented that some set of Nigerians that had fed fat on the nation’s treasury through corrupt means were working hard to dislodge the President Muhammadu Buhari-led All Progressives Congress, APC, in collaboration with the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, through the slogan “change the change.” Those behind the campaign to ensure that President Buhari is sent packing in the 2019 elections according to the presidency include lawmakers, police, customs and immigrations officials, and civil servants.

 Others according to a statement by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu include importers of diesel and those who had been indicted for various corrupt practices where humongous amount of money was recovered from, adding that the plot was to reverse the achievement so far made by the Buhari’s government.

 The presidency noted that some powerful Nigerians who have taken Nigeria and its economy as personal property were also behind the change the change campaign. Shehu in the statement mentioned those behind the planned onslaught to send the president packing in 2019.

 According to him, “The list of people who oppose the Buhari government and yearning to ‘‘change the change’’ include a number of parliamentarians, policemen, customs officials, immigration officials, civil servants now rooting for other political parties, not leaving out those various businesses and platforms owned by these political parties directly or indirectly. “Another formidable group unhappy with the change and wish it reversed are the importers of diesel and generators.
